What does the free scan check?

Updated:

The free scan measures, item by item, how ready your site is for AI crawlers. It needs no account or email; you share the result with a link.

The free scan measures whether AI crawlers can reach your site and whether your page can be quoted. You do not need to open an account or give an email address. Typing your domain is enough.

What does it look at?

The scan runs 67 checks, 14 of which are marked critical. The checks are grouped under six headings: Technical, Structure, Discoverability, Trustworthiness, AI access and Agent readiness. The items under Agent readiness are optional and do not count toward the overall score; they are scored separately under their own heading. Three items are informational only and count toward no score at all: empty alt text that Bing reports as missing, image licence information, and old site addresses listed by Search Console.

To do this, it reads your page, your robots.txt file, your sitemap and, if you have one, your llms.txt file. It also requests your page once more under each of the GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot identities, which shows whether you serve these crawlers a different response. What our crawler requests and how to block it is described on the Our crawler bot page.

To see every item on a single page, look at the checklist. The checklist and the scan contain the same items.

How are the results read?

Each item gets one of four statuses:

StatusMeaning
Passed (Geçti)The item is met.
Improve (İyileştir)The item is partly met.
Fix (Düzelt)The item is not met.
Could not be measured (Ölçülemedi)The item could not be checked; the reason is shown next to it.

An item that "could not be measured" is not counted against you; it is left out of the score. An item that is "not applicable to this page" ("Bu sayfa için geçerli değil"), such as author information on the home page or an optional file you do not publish, is also left out of the score; it is not counted in your favour either. In the score, critical items carry a weight of 5, medium items 2 and minor items 1; "Passed" earns full points and "Improve" earns half. If your page itself cannot be read at all, the scan still returns a result, but it does not give an overall score.

Does it ask AI questions?

Yes, for a small preview. The scan asks an AI engine three questions about your brand and shows the answers below the result. If answers for the same domain were collected within the last 24 hours, it shows those instead of asking again, and says so. This preview is not a measurement; a full measurement asks far more questions across more than one engine.

Sharing and limits

  • There is a share link at the bottom of the results page. Anyone who has the link can see the result; these pages are closed to search engines.
  • At most 10 scans can be started from the same address in one hour.
  • You can find which data the scan stores in Data, pricing and KVKK.
