How to read the sources engines show
Updated:
Sources are the links engines show next to their answers. They do not prove why a brand was named; they show which sites appear alongside the answers.
Most AI engines show links next to their answers. GeoMono records these links together with the answer. The Sources Read screen (Okunan Kaynaklar) in the "Sources and competitors" ("Kaynaklar ve rakipler") section, and the sources page you open from your report, are built from these records.
What does it show?
This screen lists the third-party sites the engines showed in answers where your brand was not named. A result such as "you are absent from 99 percent of answers" carries no instruction on its own; reading the same evidence by site instead of by question shows the half of it you can work on.
The sources page is not part of the report's frozen figures. It is derived from the recorded sources of the same measurement, so it does not change over time; but it is linked to the report as a separate page.
If you list your group's other sites under "Your Own Properties" ("Kendi Mülkleriniz"), those sites are not counted as third-party sources (see Competitors and your own domains).
What does it not show?
A source appearing next to an answer does not prove that the brand in that answer was named because of that source. This is why the report's "Why them?" ("Neden onlar?") section describes sources as "seen alongside" and states clearly that this is not evidence of a cause.
For some answers, source information may not have been recorded at all. In that case the screen does not say "no sources shown"; it says the information was not recorded. Information that was not recorded is not read as absence.
What do you do with this information?
Third-party sites that appear often in answers where your competitors are named are a good list of places where your brand should be present too: comparison sites, industry publications, complaint and review platforms. Recommendations for these sites appear in the action cards derived from the measurement. We explain where the cards come from in Actions and the roadmap.
