The difference between not measured and not mentioned

Updated:

Not mentioned is a measured result and counts in the rates. Not measured means no answer was received; it counts in no figure and never reads as zero.

In this article
  1. Two states, two meanings
  2. Answer-level labels
  3. Badges in the report

GeoMono's most basic rule is this: we never write "none" for something we could not measure. That is why the two states always appear separately on screens and in reports.

Two states, two meanings

  • Not mentioned (Anılmadı). We asked the question, the engine answered, we read the answer and your brand was not in it. This is a real result and counts in the rates.
  • Not measured (Ölçülemedi). We asked the question but received no answer (the engine returned an error, or the request timed out). This is a gap on our side. It counts in no figure, is logged, and can be retried.

The difference looks small but it changes the result. If ten questions that received no answer were counted as "not mentioned", a service outage would be reported as your brand being invisible.

Answer-level labels

On the Answers screen, each answer carries one of these labels:

LabelCounted in the figures?
Brand appeared in the answer (Marka yanıtta geçti)Yes
Measured · brand not mentioned (Ölçüldü · marka anılmadı)Yes
measured · engine produced no answer block (ölçüldü · motor yanıt bloğu üretmedi)Yes, as not mentioned
Not measured · no answer received (Ölçülemedi · yanıt alınamadı)No
Brand identity could not be confirmed (Marka kimliği kesinleştirilemedi)No
Classification could not be done (Sınıflandırma yapılamadı)No

"Engine produced no answer block" means, for example, that Google showed no Google AI Overviews for that search at all: it is a measured absence. "Brand identity could not be confirmed" covers answers where another company with the same name as yours may have been mentioned; since we cannot be sure, it is counted neither for nor against you.

Badges in the report

Every figure in the report has a badge next to it. Badges carry a symbol and a word as well as a colour, so they can be read in a black-and-white printout too:

  • measured (ölçüldü): the rate covers all of the answers stated next to it.
  • measured · no mention (ölçüldü · anma yok): measured, and you were not mentioned in any answer. This is the finding itself.
  • measured · few answers (ölçüldü · az sayıda yanıt): the measurement is real, but there are too few answers to publish a rate. Only the pair of counts is shown.
  • no answer mentions you · not measurable (anıldığı yanıt yok · ölçülemez): this indicator looks at the answers where you are mentioned, and there are no such answers.
  • not included in this report (bu rapora eklenmedi): this section is not within the scope of this report.
  • not yet measured (henüz ölçülmedi): it will be added with the next measurement.

A rate is shown only in the first two states. In the others you see a pair of counts such as "3 / 40 answers", or no figure at all; an empty cell never means zero.
